About lakes and sheep (diary)

For half of this month, it felt like I was just traveling around Germany with my friends, and honestly, all of these trips feel slightly like a fever dream. To avoid forgetting the small details, I’ll note down parts of what happened.✎ ⋆⑅˚₊

_Weil_am_Rhein_07.-11.05._

After a 8 hour long road trip with L&M to the most south-western part of Germany, we got to spend some beautiful days with S’s family. 

Day 1: 

• leaving Berlin at 11.30 am and arriving at S’s family home at 8.30pm
• celebrating her mom’s birthday (and her sister’s belated birthday) with amazing carrot cake that S baked and some choc muffins I made this morning
• amazing dinner with her family; we got to know everyone!!
• got some unique henna tattoos by S’s sister!

Day 2:

• we got spoiled by S’m mom with one of the most fulfilling breakfasts I’ve ever seen (dream dinner & brunch continued every day - S’m mom is an angel)
• met Maggie, the famous neighbor’s cat and fell in love with her
• got some unique henna tattoos by S’s sister (from here on called H)!
• went on a walk to France of the three-country-bridge and saw the Swiss side of the Rhein!
• played football with some random 12-15 year old kids and would have gotten destroyed if it wasn't for H
• played badminton with H and S’s dad; it was my first time ever playing so it was really chaotic but everyone had a great time!
• playing pico park in the attic until late at night

Day 3:

• cuddle time with Maggie!
• day trip to Interlaken (Switzerland) !!! 
• 
  walking through this picture book town; turned into a race against the rain (we gave up eventually and just appreciated this misty but colourful view)
• car picnic next to one of the lakes! Included instant 라면 and homemade 김밥 
• skipping stones on the lake and watching S try to skip it even once (very entertaining)
• car henna session
• ‘spooky’ game session, again, in the attic until late at night

Day 4:

• 
  10am watching S’s brother’s football game (they won); felt like an imposter because we were surrounded by American families who moved to Germany
• went our to a park nearby to play some games of badminton, football, table football and bouncing the football against a small house.. ball landed on the roof of said house; M&L found a way to climb up that building and get the ball back safely (people cars passing by watched us and rooted for us)
• last night with the family so we played DixIt with the whole family! (S won surprisingly)
• making 화채 for the first time everrrr

Day 5:

• last perfect breakfast, last time cuddling with Maggie
• roadtrip part 2; this time S joined us on our way back!
• rest stop on a little green island between McDonalds and the street
  ; we had some more 화채 and enjoyed the nice weather!
• arrived in Berlin around 10ish!

After this everything was normal for 1.5 weeks, before we visited L’s family home in Husum, at the very north of Germany to celebrate his birthday together with all of his friends!!

_Husum_24.-25.05._

Day 1:

• met with P,B and N (three friends of L) in Magdeburg to start our 4 hour road trip to Husum! 
• once we arrived we helped setting up the BBQ and cakes; spongebob themed decorations and got to meet L’s family!
  
• M&I met so many new people that day, but S&L planned it our perfectly and gave us group challenges to bond with people from other friendgroups
• played lots of games (karaoke, werewolf, imposter…)
• at midnight: L’s birthday!! S brought hin her spongebob themed cake and we all ate together, afterwards we did lots of karaoke until late at night

Day 2:

• woke up first at 11am!
• 
  cleaned everything up and prepared an amazing breakfast with 10/10 strawberries (I couldn’t stop myself from eating most of them; but also noone else wanted any?!)
• everyone packed up and we named the winner of the group challenges (my team won wohoo)
• drove to the Nordsee beach; Me and S started running down this hill against the strong sea breeze, the sea on our left, sheep on our right until we fell onto the grass when we reached the bottom of it
• played on this playground like litte kids - I haven’t laughed this much in a long time
• afterwards it was time to say goodbye and our road trip car made its way back to Magdeburg (you could tell that we became friends over night, the conversations very a lot light more hearted and easy)
• at the train station I dropped a plate full of cake (saddest moment of the week)
• on the train to Berlin this person started talking to M, P and me and it was a crazy and random conversation.. but it was fun!!

I’ve had my trouble with Blogger which took away some fun in blogging. I’m looking for an alternative so until then, don’t be surprised if I stay more or less active!
