About the love of my life

Yesterday, I celebrated my anniversary with my best friend, who also happens to be my partner! We spent the day doing things we love—dressing up to go eat bánh mì, grabbing a fun drink, browsing interesting book and comic shops, playing games, going to a pool bar to try out their Shuffleboard, and having Korean fried chicken before heading home to play video games together and watch our comfort show, How I Met Your Mother. 

We also exchanged gifts, and while I think Micky liked my gift (a combination of a Where’s Bowie book he had been wishing for, some film for his analog camera, and a half-filled photo album we’ll complete with the pictures he takes), he truly outdid himself with his gift for me:

A short film set to one of our favorite love songs — about, well... me! ༘⋆

When he used the camera he got in Korea for filming scenes from our travels, he captured so many beautiful shots. He then edited them into a short film that I already loved, but this time, the composition, music, and emotion he put into the project were just so beautiful to watch. I felt like the luckiest person to receive this as a gift.

Of course, I wouldn’t just talk about this amazing short film without actually showing it off, so feel free to take a look!  

I feel incredibly lucky to have found someone with whom I can enjoy every moment — someone with whom I can joke around and have fun, but also someone who challenges me to become a better person and helps me take care of myself when I can’t. He inspires me deeply with his art and his unique way of thinking. 

Even though sometimes his perspective is so different from my own, it’s exactly what I need and I never want to miss it.
