About the fun of life (diary)

Wow, it feels like I blinked once and April was already over…

Happy May, everyone!!

Let’s welcome arguably the best month of the year and appreciate all that it has to offer!

Before we focus on the future, I want to take this entry to reminisce about the past few weeks and all the good things that have been happening in my life.

As you can see from my only April blog post about the things I love about home, the month started with me spending time with my family — a much-needed break. Even though I was still plagued by one unfinished essay, I had a good time filled with procrastination and knitting, my cat Bazi, and lots of conversations with family. After almost two weeks of escaping my busy city life, I made my way back — and with that, I finally sat down and finished that silly essay of mine.
(It would’ve only been half as silly if I had been allowed to write more about the content of my research instead of focusing so much on the methods — but it was a seminar about sociolinguistic methodology, so I couldn’t really get into the interesting parts too much… Let’s see if my teacher thinks I did a good job :p )

Anyway, I sent it in — and I was free! 𓇢𓆸

For two days, at least. That’s when the new semester started. Yippie!

But honestly, it looks a lot more promising, considering the classes I’m taking now are about children’s literature and film, fantastic literature, water in language, multilingualism in the city, and the language I’m finally trying to become more fluent in…
최선을 다하고 있어요, 약속합니다! (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚

But life would be pretty sad if it were only about finishing essays and studying. Luckily, mine is packed with so many more fun things! Like an Easter egg hunt with my closest friends! Or hanging out and playing cards by a lake! Or trying a new craft for a pretty important project I can’t talk about yet! Or watching one great movie after another! Or having a themed sleepover with my friends and dressing up as characters from Wonderland! Or practicing German with my fiancé and noticing how much easier it’s getting to have fluid conversations! Or crocheting gifts for a not yet born baby and knitting the same scarf pattern five times for family and myself!
Well…

That pretty much sums up everything I did in April :D

It was a great month overall, and I couldn’t be more grateful for my life than I am right now. The sun is shining, Berlin is becoming the city everyone loves again, and I can’t even be mad about spending all day (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) on campus. When I leave in the morning and come back home at night, it’s never dark — and that really helps me go through daily life with more hope and lightness. So thank you, Spring and Summer time — I’m glad you’re back!

That’s all for today, since I now have to attend a yoga class to make the studio cleaning worth it. Later, I’ll hang out with my friends to create art, rent a rowing boat on a lake, and enjoy this national holiday in the sunlight and warmth! ོ༘₊⁺☀︎₊⁺⋆.˚

Life is fun!!!
