About this blog

Approaching the first anniversary of this blog (January 28th, 2025), here's some info, plans, and thoughts on this project:

1. categories

After mixing personal entries with ones about crafting, I want to have a way of labeling it so each person can read according to their interests. Which is why you can find labels on the left-side column that will exactly do that. So enjoy not having to scroll through all the entries trying to find the one that you were looking for!!

2. regularity

A year ago I had the dream of posting at least once a week. But after my 6-month break from July to this January, I noticed that this will not happen. You can't find time to create and then simultaneously write about it. (Or maybe it's possible for others, definitely not for me ˙𐃷˙) But what I will try this year is to have one monthly entry about ongoing or finished projects that lets me reflect on them or share tips about them for others. In the end, this blog still has the purpose of being a digital diary, but if you were thinking about getting into one of my pursued hobbies, then hopefully you'll get inspired!

3. design

I'm still not 100% happy with the design of this blog. That's mostly due to unpersonalized artwork: none of the paintings used for the background or the header are originally mine. So I want to replace those, find a color scheme that I like, and make mypersimmoon more recognizable and personal!

About a creative 2025

With the end of 2025 my most creative and artistic year so far ended, and I have many plans for the next year to be just as, if not even more, fulfilling! (Lots of plans for this blog as well to have it be closer to my expectations from last year when I started it all.)
So stay tuned~

Until then I will summarise my months of the last year to rewind and look back onto my projects!

January:

A not so calm month filled with my (then) boyfriend moving in with me! Everything around me was so busy and in the movement of change so I tried to bring some stillness by sitting own and paint. I don't think I ever finished the painting in the picture, but it showed me that I still understand color theory and also that I don't enjoy painting nearly as much as crafting. I like to work with my hands and not depend solely on my creativity, but more on my skills. Not saying that crafting (/sewing/knitting) doesn't need creativity, but your skills and knowledge of the craft can often make up the lack of imaginary and sitting down to paint showed me what I want to focus on in this new year.
